CONGRATULATIONS WEST BANDS!

The West Forsyth Band Program is honored to be selected as a North Carolina Band Program of Distinction by the North Carolina Bandmasters Association. This award was earned for the accomplishments of our incredible students throughout the 2025-2026 school year.

Congratulations to Mr. Shoemaker and all of the students in the West Forsyth Bands for the recognition of their hard work and dedication!

MARCHING BAND DUES REMINDER

This is a friendly reminder that your first and second band fee payments are due, and the third Guard payment was due on August 1. If you have not yet submitted your student's band fees, please do so as soon as possible to help us prepare for a successful marching season. As of today, we have received payments from only 60% of our marching band families.

If your student needs a new pair of marching shoes, please include the additional cost of the shoes with your band dues. Ordering shoes early helps ensure they arrive before performances begin.

PAYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT: Effective August 1st, the Band Fans Venmo account will be closed. Please use the credit card links above, or pay by cash or check.

Annual DCI Finals Viewing Party

5:30-10/10:30 PM

This event is open to all parents, students and alumni and is free to attend. We will watch the live stream of the Drum Corps International World Championship Finals. Come watch the best marching bands in the world!

JOIN THE MARCHING BAND PHOTO SHARE

Parents & Guardians are invited to join the Photo Circle application if you would like to view, download and share photos and videos (limited to approximately 1 minute). Here is a link to more information about PHOTOCIRCLE.

We ask that this tool be utilized by parents and guardians and not students and kindly request that no comments be left on images or videos. This is a great way for parents and guardians to share and view images and videos throughout the season.

PARENT & GUARDIAN CHALLENGE

Do you know a business owner or community partner that would like to support our students?

Every year we seek support from local businesses and community sponsors. This year that support is more critical than ever. The arts have faced significant funding cuts while costs continue to rise. These costs include transportation fees charged by the school district, which tripled last season.

If you know a business owner who might want to support the West Bands, please share our sponsorship information.

If each of us finds just one business to sponsor, the impact will be felt across ALL West Bands and greatly appreciated by our students.

Band Fans Volunteer Updates

A critical need right now is a Transportation Chair. If you’re comfortable towing an enclosed trailer and have availability to help, please reach out for more information: info@westforsythbands.com. It would be wonderful to find a group of band supporters able to rotate events and help with this important task.

We are also looking for a Guard Coordinator. If you are willing to represent the Guard at Band Fans Board meetings and help advocate for both the Color Guard and Winter Guard, please reach out to us at info@westforsythbands.com.
