Marching Band News

Welcome to the Marching Titan Family

Did you know that all band parents and guardians are officially Band Fans when their child joins the Marching Titans or any WFHS Band? There are many ways to get involved, from volunteering at events to donating items to keep the students fueled up throughout the season.

We always need extra hands and kindly ask each family to sign up to bring one snack/drink item and volunteer at 2–3 events.

A critical need right now is a Transportation Chair. If you’re comfortable towing an enclosed trailer and have availability to help, please reach out for more information: info@westforsythbands.com. It would be wonderful to find a group of band supporters able to rotate events and help with this important task.

Thank you to all who have joined the 26/27 Band Fans Board! The current board members along with open positions can be viewed on the Parents & Volunteers page. Expect a weekly newsletter from the Band Fans Board during marching season to keep everyone informed.

UPCOMING EVENT: Parent Preview and Meet & Greet

Thursday, July 30th from 5:45 - 7 PM

Join us for a sneak peek of what the students have been working on at band camp! Meet other parents and some of the seasoned Band Fans.

We will meet behind the school in the bus lot, which is located between the school and the stadium. Stadium availability is always questionable this time of year, so we might be viewing from the pavement — but it'll be fun to hear some music either way!

Join us after the preview for refreshments in the band room. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how you can get involved in a casual setting.

IMPORTANT PARKING INFO FOR THIS EVENT: Please park in one of the student lots (labeled on the map as 1st, 2nd and 3rd) along SW School Road and walk to the bus lot. This is for the safety of our students as their practice field is the bus lot.

PARENT & GUARDIAN CHALLENGE

Do you know a business owner or community partner that would like to support our students?

Every year we seek support from local businesses and community sponsors. This year that support is more critical than ever. The arts have faced significant funding cuts while costs continue to rise. These costs include transportation fees charged by the school district, which tripled last season.

If you know a business owner who might want to support the West Bands, please share our sponsorship information.

If each of us finds just one business to sponsor, the impact will be felt across ALL West Bands and greatly appreciated by our students.

Volunteer Sign-Up: Complete the annual volunteer clearance form here and check back often for updated volunteer opportunities as we add events.

Snack Sign-Up: We will update as more items are needed. Please feel free to send in items with your student during camp. All items can be dropped in the band room.

PAYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT: Effective August 1st, the Band Fans Venmo account will be closed. Please use the credit card links above, or pay by cash or check.
